Maison Martin Margiela with H&M / Mood Video Release!

Pack up your belongings - shit just got real. I know there have been a few, rare moments on this blog where we haven't obsessed over the possibilities of H&M + Maison Martin Margiela (atom bomb of creation), but this is certainly not one of them.

MMM x H&M just released a short but sweet Mood Film to advertise the new Collection. Shot in Paris, this production is just a small taste of the new print + film campaign spearheaded by British Artist and Director Sam Taylor-Johnson for Margiela and H&M; featuring Julia Nobis, Jamie Bochert, and dancer Cyril Baldy. MMM x H&M is meant to be a reflection of the history and evolution of the iconic house; offering a re-edition of specific, individual pieces evocative of the Season it represents; spanning 23 years since the Maison's funding.

Maison Martin Margiela with H&M will be released next week on November 15th in nearly 230 select stores (and online!) worldwide. Get out those credit cards!

Maison Martin Margiela x H&M / First Look!

I first saw this on fellow brilliant blogger JayStrut's online home and I couldn't contain myself! If this is a taste of what we can expect from MMM x H&M then I am already obsessed with the possibilities! Those over-sized pants and jeans are driving me nuts! I think they are so retro 90's, and so re-imagined punk; I love it. And I know I don't have the frame for them...and that drives me even more nuts. Margiela is a phenom of expression; and to have any one of his pieces, any one of his creations evoking that aesthetic in my hands at an affordable rate? I really can't say anything else. I'll be in line in New York if I have to be.

H&M + MMM = Fall/Winter 2012

It's official! What's been buzzing around the fashion world recently has just been confirmed; H&M is planning an exclusive collaboration with Maison Martin Margiela, the famously eccentric design house that currently sits as a staple of historical innovation once held by Margiela himself. The collaboration came as a jolt to the industry; when H&M surprisingly released an email announcement about the exciting project earlier today.

Maison Martin Margiela embodies an aesthetic that continues to be a re-interpretation of fresh deconstruction. Obtrusive elements meant to create harmony, and the diversion from, or perhaps expanded definition of, what the fashion world deems luxurious. To be honest, though the collaboration has come as a bit of an unusual shock (since H&M tends to collaborate with designers of glittery exaggeration - re: Versace, Anna Dello Russo, Marni), I couldn't think of a consumer-driven, fashion boutique that could possibly hold a Margiela aesthetic better than H&M. The project is intended to include both men's and women's designs with a focus of knitwear, coats, and winter accessories. If there was ever any reason to be excited for Fall this year, I think this would have be it!

Maison Martin Margiela X H&M will be officially released on November 15th, 2012, and will only be available in select H&M stores around the globe. Step aside Summer! My wallet needs to survive 'til Autumn!
